Dear IT Manager,
Every organization is seeking ways to reduce Information Technology costs while still being able to respond to day-to-day obligations. The new economic reality is that you consider outsourcing to meet your needs as they arise, below are reasons you should do this:
1. Captive employees think one way, and an outside vendor thinks entirely differently. Employees look to others to tell them what to do and when to do it. Employees work on projects so there are always enough problems to work. A vendor begins with the end in mind. We work with the goal of leaving you a fully functional reliable installation. One that you clearly understand and have been trained to run by yourself. A vendor operates on their own initiative, they don't just talk; they do.
2. You can delegate responsibility. You can never delegate accountability. Captive employees are responsible for doing what they are told to do, but they are seldom held accountable for anything. Independent professionals are accountable, period.
3. Consultants know that they work at the whim of their clients; contract assignments start and contract assignments end, and we know that our clients are the one's who need us. We fully appreciate that real security comes from developing highly marketable skills and doing them well. We value freedom and independence over the false security of captive employment. We understand that who we are has more to do with what we do and how well we do it than whom they do it for, We view the end of a gig as an excellent opportunity to land a better gig.
4. You see, the problem is that ‘Employees’ view job loss as a form of betrayal; a broken trust. Employees view temp-to-perm arrangements as an inconvenience on the road to full-time employment. Employees need to be employed, and they identify closely with their employer. Whom they work for is part of who they are. In my opinion, this is not at all healthy, nor is it realistic! Consultants value freedom and independence. They understand that freedom and independence are essential to the full realization of their potential. We fully appreciate that real security comes from developing highly marketable skills and doing them well.
5. Hiring is obsolete – let’s call a spade, a spade. The market has spoken, and your investors have spoken. Maintaining a headcount costs money and none of us should be making promises to each other that we cannot keep. You still need people and the work still needs to be done. You need competent people working on your side. You need to be able to trust them and to have confidence that there is an accountability path in place.
I have that accountability path. As a member of the "Professional Association of Contract Employees" (PACE)I now have an ‘Employer of Record’ and this alleviates all of your co-employment tax liability risks. This also provides professional liability and workers compensation coverage for our mutual protection in the package!
The bottom line is that by having PACE involved, you and I both benefit by the economy of scale. This provide you the client with reduced paperwork & dramatic savings. My overhead is tiny compared with my competition. I have absolute autonomy and authority in contract negotiation and in payment terms. It is my belief that this is the future of the contracting business.
Are you interested? Great! I have developed comprehensive job proposal and initial "scope of work" (due diligence) process that allows you to better visualize your project, plan your budget and manage all deliverables and milestones along the path to completion. My project management skills are my biggest asset.
I look forward to talking with you further! |
